Kleczynski receives honorable mention in national competition
Helen Kleczynski’s pastel painting “Chiara” received an honorable mention in the portrait and figure category of the 11th annual Pastel Journal competition. Helen paints plein air in her watercolor journal, and then returns to her studio to complete larger paintings. “Chiara” is inspired by a statue at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
PAAWM artists Badger and Spink together in one show
Midtown Gallery in in downtown Kalamazoo brings two outstanding members of the Plein Air Artists of West Michigan together in one show. Watercolorist Susan Badger and oil painter Brent Spink will be featured together May 7th - 29th.
Susan and Brent's show at Midtown Gallery is part of the Friday, May 7th Art Hop with an opening reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Susan's beautifully sensitive watercolors and Brent's mood filled oils are sure to be wonderful compliments to each other.
