Barbara Berens
Barb grew up in West Michigan and now lives in Grand Haven. She is a full-time graphic designer who also pursues her interest in oil painting, drawing and figure studies. She studied art for two years at Kendall School of Design and also attended the University of Texas at Austin for two years. She attends workshops and paints as much as possible. A love of nature, animals, hiking, and photography all support her interest in art.
“Plein air is my favorite type of painting. I think Michigan is magical in her beauty, with her varied landscapes, shorelines and lakes. The changing moods, colors and atmosphere of Michigan gives us endless opportunities to paint. It’s been a real pleasure painting with the PAAWM. The locations are always fantastic and everyone is so knowledgeable and helpful. I’m learning a lot from these very experienced artists and I’m enjoying being out in these beautiful areas.”
